Have Some Holiday Magic

Start your holiday season with a little magic at the historic Mclean Mill Site. With hot chocolate, live music, a gift shop and a festival of trees, the 2021 heritage light up is a great outing for families. Get your picture taken with Santa, wander through the festival of trees, and support the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation while doing it. Happening December 3-5, 10-12, 17-19 from 4-8:30, pre-registration is required, tickets are available online at mcleanmill.ca. Entry to the event is by donation. 

Enjoy live Christmas music

Elise Boulanger and Sarah Wood are back after two years to bring a special Christmas evening with songs and stories. The Night B4 the Night B4 will be at Char’s Landing on 4815 Argyle Street on December 12 from 2:30-4:30. The venue has COVID safety rules and protocols in place, including plexiglass and proof of double vaccine status required. Masks are also required to be worn at all times while inside. Tickets are not available for both the in-house performance and a YouTube Livestream. In-house tickets are $20, and live stream tickets are $10; both can be purchased before the show.

Naesgaard’s Market is a truly unique, seasonal affair. Filled with plants and fresh, local produce in the spring and summer months, Naesgaard’s Market turns into a winter wonderland for the holidays, complete with trees, ornaments, and everything needed to have a holly, jolly Christmas season. 

Fresh local Douglas, grand, and Nobel firs, as well as white pine trees, are available for purchase. You can also decorate your local tree with some unique, wacky, and awesome tree ornaments also available at the market.
