Local Bands Bring the Folk Rock

It’s going to be a night of folky rock goodness on February 11, when Vancouver Island’s very own Maverick Cinema will bringing their musical talents to Char’s Landing. The band will be supported by Non Stop Talk. Polish off your dancing shoes and get ready to dance the night away. The show begins at 8 and runs until around midnight.

How’s a critically acclaimed Chinese-Canadian film film sound? On February 26, the Paramount Theatre Film Festival will be presenting a showing a Old Stone, a film detailing the plight of poor Lao Shi, who’s on a mission to be cleared for an accident he didn’t cause. The film received plaudits from film critics, so it’s not to be missed for any film lover.
